VIDEO: Diana Taurasi Responds to Marcus Morris and His 'Female Tendencies' Comments
By Scott Rogust
With the NBA mourning the losses of Kobe Bryant and 13-year-old daughter Gianna, leave it to the New York Knicks to create bad publicity for themselves and the league. Following a pull-apart in their blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, Knicks forward Marcus Morris made some misogynistic comments towards Jae Crowder, saying the Grizzlies forward had "female tendencies." While Morris apologized on Twitter immediately, the damage was done. On Thursday, WNBA star Diana Taurasi responded to Morris' distasteful choice of words.
Taurasi says she's spoken to Morris in the past and called him a good guy. That's what makes his comments towards Crowder and the female gender that much more disappointing.
In the closing moments of Wednesday night's game, Crowder was shoved to the ground by Elfrid Payton during a late 3-point attempt, resulting in both teams having to be separated.
As Taurasi says, we're all human and we all make mistakes. Hopefully, Morris has learned from this and refrain from making such comments in the future.
