VIDEO: Doc Rivers Says Paul George Could 'Possibly' Return to Clippers on Monday
By Ian Anderson
The Clippers' faithful have been patiently waiting to see their two superstar offseason acquisitions on the court at the same time. Well, Hollywood, gear up. We might see the tandem of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on the court together as soon as Monday.
Doc Rivers revealed that George's recovery from offseason surgery on both shoulders is almost complete and we could see the six-time All-Star on the hardwood very soon.
PG fully participated in practice today and Rivers admitted the star forward could return Monday in the Kawhi Leonard revenge game, when the Los Angeles Clippers take on Pascal Siakam and the red hot Toronto Raptors. It's not guaranteed he'll be ready for Monday's clash, but the update is still encouraging.
George was spotted after the Clippers' practice on Saturday getting extra shots up from behind the arc, and he could not miss. The former MVP candidate's sweet 3-point stroke could boost a Clippers team which sits at a lowly 20th in team shooting percentage from deep.
Last season in Oklahoma City, George was sensational, averaging a career-high 28.0 points, alongside 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and a league best 2.2 steals per game.
