VIDEO: Dodgers' Cody Bellinger Crushes 40th Homer of the Year With Upper-Deck Bomb at Marlins Park
By Karl Rasmussen

The race to 40 is officially over. Los Angeles Dodgers MVP candidate Cody Bellinger unloaded an absolute moonshot off Austin Brice for his 40th round-tripper of the season, becoming the first player in the league to reach that tally. Bellinger was served a juicy meatball right down I-95 and he turned on it, spanking it into the deserted upper deck at Marlins Park.
A career-high 40 homers!

Say hello to your new MLB home run leader, @Cody_Bellinger! pic.twitter.com/dKVXhKBvdy
What an emphatic way to reach the 40-homer mark, as he now paces the big leagues, and with the very same swing of the bat, Bellinger shattered his previous career mark of 39 bombs.
And this one skied 112 feet up in the air before plummeting back down to earth.

Cody Bellinger homers (40): fly ball to RF (3-run)
Hit: 411.75ft, 104.56mph, 33.08°?
Pitch: 92.9mph Four-Seam Fastball (RHP Austin Brice, 6) pic.twitter.com/pe8b2oWRGO
From the second that ball made contact with the barrel of Bellinger's bat, there was no debating it would leave the yard. That's just the kind of season it's been for this relentless slugger.
