VIDEO: Dodgers' Cody Bellinger Took Throw From Marlins Catcher Right to the Crotch on Steal Attempt
By Thomas Carannante
Direct shot! The Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins are quietly finishing up their series on Thursday, but this lowlight should alert the baseball world this day game is indeed going on. Dodgers slugger Cody Bellinger took off to steal second base in the fourth inning and while he was safe, he paid the price. Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro fired a throw down to the bag and it caught Bellinger right in the midsection.
Bellinger is playing first base today, so it's safe to assume he's being responsible and wearing a cup. If not, he certainly played it off like nothing happened and owns a pair of steel ones.
