VIDEO: Dodgers Walk Off Again on Max Muncy's 2-Run Come-From-Behind Double Against Padres
By Scott Rogust
The Los Angeles Dodgers just can't be stopped at the moment. On Sunday, the LAD entered the bottom of the ninth inning with a 10-9 deficit against the San Diego Padres. With Alex Verdugo and Corey Seager on base (after Joc Pederson had already been thrown out at third), Max Muncy battled and lined a Kirby Yates pitch to right field. Hunter Renfroe's throw to home wasn't on target, which allowed both Verdugo and Seager to score, giving Muncy a two-run walk-off double.
This is the Dodgers' ninth walk-off of the season, while also being the first regular season walk-off RBI in Muncy's career (he, of course, ended Game 3 of last year's World Series with a dinger in the 18th inning).
Now sitting at 74-40, the Los Angeles Dodgers' stranglehold over the NL West division lead has reached 17 games.
