VIDEO: Dolphins Fullback Chandler Cox Incredibly Took Out 3 Jaguars Players With a Single Block
By Michael Luciano
It's hard for a fullback to survive in this day and age of four wide receiver sets and wide open aerial assaults on offense, but Miami Dolphins fullback Chandler Cox has made a strong impression with Brian Flores and the coaching staff with a productive preseason. Cox showed off how effective a blocker he can be when the 240-pound H-back somehow took on three Jacksonville Jaguars defenders on one play, and actually came out on top.
And THAT right there is how you make a roster.
Selected 233rd overall in the seventh round of the 2019 draft, one pick before Miami took Washington running back Myles Gaskin, Cox was a stud fullback at Auburn and paved the way for many a talented rusher in Gus Malzahn's offense.
In an age where some teams don't even carry a fullback, Cox is making a case to not only stick around, but start.
Cox's NFL future is still largely undecided, but what's firmly established now is that he's as tough as a two-dollar steak and isn't going to back down from a challenge. He'll even take on half of the defense just to prove it.
