VIDEO: Donovan Mitchell Nearly Blasts Home Run in Mets Jersey at Citi Field
By Zack Jiang
Donovan Mitchell's season came to an end after the Rockets knocked off the Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. Before he gets back to work on his game, he's enjoying some time in the sun. Mitchell, a New York native, got some swings in at Mets' batting practice on Wednesday and missed out on a home run by a matter of feet.
Pretty good form for the 22-year-old shooting guard.
Mitchell is no stranger to baseball as he played two years of it in high school. His dad, Donovan Mitchell Sr, also played professionally in the minors.
Mitchell Sr. now works as the Director of Player Relations for the Mets, so it's no surprise to see Mitchell at Citi Field sporting a Mets Jersey. It looks like he got some great seats for Wednesday night's matchup against the Nationals.
Although Mitchell and the Jazz had a disappointing postseason, he is still one of the most promising young players in the NBA and will be looking to one-up himself once more next season.
For now, he'll enjoy his time off and catch a ball game featuring two of the best pitchers in the sport.
