By Jerry Trotta
You may hate him, but at the end of the day, his work deserves our respect. His name is Draymond Green, and though it goes without saying that his arrogant and controversial personality divides fans opinions of him across the country, his motor and persistence on the floor is second to none in the Association. At the heart of that tenacity is his relentless desire to achieve greatness-- check out the three-time All-Star delivering a powerful speech on his "be great" attitude ahead of Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
“As a competitor, if you are trying to do something meaningful, if you don’t have the mindset that you are the best ever, you have failed already,” Green said. “So if you don’t have the mindset that you are the best reporter ever, then you’ve already failed. That’s been my mindset since I can remember, that will be my mindset as long as I can remember anything. That I am the best ever at what I do. Every day that I step on the basketball floor, I will strive to be that, but my mindset will always be as such, as I am the best to do what I do."
Anybody else have chills running down their spine?
To say that Draymond is a "great" player would be a genuine understatement. His mindset is Hall of Fame-worthy, and a BIG reason that his Warriors haven't missed a beat during Kevin Durant's ongoing absence.
