VIDEO: Drew Brees Literally Can't Grip Football Due to Injured Thumb and is Out for Rest of Week 2
By Jerry Trotta
We strongly advise all Who Dat Nation members to stay away from this particular piece of news. Drew Brees was forced from Sunday's tilt against the Rams after his throwing hand crashed into the hand of an impeding Aaron Donald. Heading into the halftime break, there was a sliver of hope that the Pro-Bowl quarterback would be able to return, but FOX cameras caught the 40-year-old vet unable to grip a football on New Orleans' sideline prior to the inception of the third quarter. Brees has all but been ruled OUT for the remainder of the game.
It's really not often that you see Brees so evidently distraught and we can only hope that he doesn't face a multi-week absence.
For now, however, it'll be on the shoulders of back-up Teddy Bridgewater to try and give the Saints a road victory at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
