VIDEO: Eagles Fans Who Fought Mike Scott Appeared to Bring Sean Taylor Coffin to Tailgate
By Thomas Carannante
There's another wrinkle to the wild story about Philadelphia 76ers' Mike Scott getting into it with Eagles fans at the tailgate before the team's game against the Washington Redskins, and now it all makes more sense. Scott, a known Redskins fan, sported his old school Sean Taylor jersey when going to the game, and apparently the scuffle came to a head when he came across these Eagles fans that brought a coffin to the tailgate and placed Taylor's jersey on it.
This is completely over the line, and if there was any time to buckle down and throw fists, this is it. Though Scott probably shouldn't have involved himself in this given his high profile, he now looks a lot less at fault for his role.
As most NFL fans are well aware of, Taylor was shot and killed in his home back in November of 2007. The former University of Miami star was a first-round pick for the Redskins and was a two-time Pro Bowler in his four NFL seasons.
The Eagles barely escaped with a win despite being much better than the Skins, but the next big focus will be when these two teams meet again in Washington. It could get ugly again.
