VIDEO: Eagles QB Carson Wentz Hits DeSean Jackson for Deep Touchdown to Put Philly on the Board
By Jerry Trotta
It took almost an entire first half of play, but the Philadelphia Eagles are finally on the scoreboard. In arguably the NFL's most surprising storyline of Week 1, the Washington Redskins came out firing on Sunday to open up a 17-0 lead against the heavily-favored Birds. Eventually, however, Carson Wentz and Co. responded as the Pro Bowl quarterback connected with DeSean Jackson for a 51-yard score to cut into the deficit ahead of halftime.
It's about time!
Get used to this, City of Brotherly Love, because the Wentz-Jackson affinity on the deep ball has a good chance to become a regular sighting in 2019.
