VIDEO: Eagles QB Cody Kessler Gets Rocked on Run and Gives Way to Clayton Thorson
By Scott Rogust

Last week, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew had his "Welcome to the NFL" moment against the Baltimore Ravens. On Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles, the "Sacksonville" defense was out to defend their bruised brother. On Philadelphia's opening drive, quarterback Cody Kessler turned on the jets for a huge gain. Unfortunately for him, his sprint came to a sudden stop, thanks in part to a nasty tackle from Jaguars pass rusher Datone Jones.

Aa a result of getting rocked, Kessler was removed from the game by an independent medical spotter, allowing rookie Clayton Thorson to enter early for Philadelphia. That's a shame; we were hoping to give Thorson a bit of a rest after his rough preseason opener last week.

That is real nice, though.
