VIDEO: Eagles Rookie Clayton Thorson Throws One of the Worst Picks You'll Ever See

The preseason, for the league's rookies, is a time meant to establish yourself and prove that you belong. For fifth-rounder Clayton Thorson, he had an even greater opportunity in his first week than most; Nate Sudfeld, ostensibly the team's backup, went down early with a broken wrist, leaving Philly's chain of command behind Carson Wentz sort of stark. Never fear! Thorson is here to...throw into triple coverage, overthrow that pass anyway, and hit a fourth defender in the breadbasket.

Gak.

That swarming Tennessee defense, am I...am I right? Those fools came outta nowhere! Anyway, I gotta hit the hay. Long day of practice tomorrow, am I right, fellas? Long day for all of us, not just me because I blew that throw, all of us.

Thorson, a Northwestern boy, was a highly effective game manager in college who could make a little thunder-and-lightning work with his legs as well. If he's going to seize the moment this August, we need to see more of that decision-making, and less of this Eli Manning on quaaludes level stuff.
