VIDEO: Eagles Take Lead on Redskins With Carson Wentz TD Passes to Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson
By Jerry Trotta
It was truly inevitable, but the comeback is officially on. The Washington Redskins shockingly opened up a 17-0 first-half lead against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. However, Carson Wentz and DeSean Jackson would cut into that deficit just ahead of halftime with a 51-yard touchdown connection. Flash forward to roughly the eight-minute mark of the third quarter, and Wentz found Alshon Jeffery in a tight window in the back of the end zone to bring Philly back within one score.
Defenses might think that pushing Wentz out of the pocket would bode well for them, but the Pro Bowl gunslinger is one of the very best on the run in the NFL.
A few minutes later, the comeback was officially stamped, as Wentz found another gaping hole in the Redskins secondary, hooking up with Jackson for ANOTHER deep ball. This time around it was a 53-yard TD.
We'll go out on a limb and say that Doug Pederson's halftime pep talk was more than enough to motivate his quad.
