VIDEO: Ed Orgeron Gives Dark Welcome to Death Valley Ahead of LSU-Florida
By Chris Russo
Ed Orgeron is one of the most intriguing coaches in college football, and he's never shied away from giving a unique press conference or interview. Well, when facing the media ahead of LSU's clash with Florida, Orgeron gave everyone a very ominous and dark welcome to Death Valley.
Orgeron really goes all out from the beginning. He has the cadence, the imagery, and just some beautiful Stephen King-sounding nonsense.
It's not too hard to imagine Orgeron saying that to a group of outsiders as they enter his gator-filled swamp in the Louisiana backwoods, meaning the Florida Gators probably marched into Tiger Stadium afraid of their own kind.
His voice is deep and his words are harsh, yet it is still not the scariest Ed Orgeron the world has heard.
Look, obviously it's just dramatics considering the laughs on Orgeron's and Tom Rinaldi's faces after the fact.
The No. 7 Gators and the No. 5 Tigers are both undefeated entering their matchup, and the combination of Orgeron's dark words and the school's not-so-compassionate thoughts is showing that Death Valley really might be a cemetery for opponents' hopes and dreams.
