VIDEO: Eduardo Rodriguez Slams Glove and Lashes Out in Angst After Outing Against Yankees
By Mark Powell
Eduardo Rodriguez is...not happy after giving up four runs in seven innings of work against the New York Yankees. E-Rod's only mistake was an ugly first inning, in which he gave up a grand slam to Gleyber Torres. In fact, both he and Yankees hurler James Paxton settled down after lackluster beginnings to this rivalry series in the Bronx. Don't tell Rodriguez that, though, as he let his feelings be known once he reached the Red Sox dugout.
Pitchers are often perfectionists, so we don't blame Rodriguez for being out of his element in what could be a fifth straight loss for Boston.
As the Red Sox chase a Wild Card spot, every mistake is magnified. On Friday night, Rodriguez made one, and it was costly.
