VIDEO: Eli Manning Meets Family in Emotional Scene After Potential Final Home Start
By Karl Rasmussen
Eli Manning may have just played his final snaps at MetLife Stadium. The Giants' veteran signal caller has been starting in place of the injured Daniel Jones, and he was able to lead the G-Men to a win over the Dolphins on Sunday. It's still possible that Jones will return to his starting role next week, and will presumably be healthy for the team's final home game in Week 17 against Philly, so this was in all likelihood Eli's final home start for the Giants. After the game, Manning was seen meeting with his family in an emotional exchange.
Manning jogged off the field to a standing ovation from fans in East Rutherford, and the first people he greeted after the victory were his wife and kids.
With his future in the NFL remaining very much a question mark, this was a truly special occasion for Manning and his family, and his biggest supporters were there to greet him once the clock expired and his career record ran itself back to .500.
Despite the Giants' recent struggles, Manning is still a beloved figure among the franchise's fan base. After all, he's been under center for the team since 2004, winning two Super Bowls and sitting on a perfectly balanced 117-117 career record.
He earned this.
