VIDEO: Field Suddenly Erupts in Flames at Nissan Stadium Before Titans vs Colts
By Michael Luciano
Sometimes, going above and beyond for a little extra pageantry can backfire in the worst way. The Tennessee Titans are big fans of using some oversized flamethrowers in their player introductions, and as cool as it looks, it can sometimes backfire, as a malfunction led to part of Nissan Field immolating before kickoff against the Indianapolis Colts.
Mike Vrabel and the Titans might have a solid team this year, but there has been no better epitomization of their performance against the Colts in recent years than their field literally catching fire before the game.
The Titans had a pregame ceremony for Steve McNair and Eddie George, as both their numbers were being retired. From such lofty heights, the Titans managed to foul up their pre-game routine in striking fashion.
The good news for the Titans is that no matter what happens in this game, it can only go up from here.
