VIDEO: 'First Take' Host Molly Qerim Jokes About Calling HR After Exchange With LaVar Ball
By Jerry Trotta
Renowned loudmouth LaVar Ball was invited as a guest on Monday's edition of ESPN's "First Take" to discuss the Los Angeles Lakers trading son Lonzo to New Orleans as part of the blockbuster Anthony Davis trade. Of course, the Big Baller Brand patriarch delivered some hot takes on the matter, but they were all overshadowed by his abysmal attempt to flirt with moderator and host Molly Qerim. And later in the show, Qerim hilariously and semi-sarcastically quipped that she would be calling human resources.
"If anyone's calling HR today, it's me," uttered Querim.
Go right ahead Molly. You're far from the only one who'd consider doing so in such a situation. It's about time that these networks reconsider having LaVar on as a guest; he might benefit ratings, but an action as disrespectful as this has no place on any television set. Or anywhere at all, really.
What makes today's episode all the more disturbing is that it wasn't the first time that Ball made an indecent comment to a female host during an on-air appearance. Back in 2017, LaVar told Kristine Leahy, then the co-host on FS1's "The Herd With Colin Cowherd" to stay in her lane when she asked how many pairs of his Big Baller Brand shoes had been sold.
The bottom line here is that LaVar is a disrespectful clown with absolutely no filter. And his remarks today could have escalated into something far more uglier than an awkward silence if not for Qerim's professionalism.
