VIDEO: Florida State Idiotically Runs Direct Snap on Final Play Instead of Spiking Ball vs Virginia
By Karl Rasmussen

Florida State might be the least disciplined and worst-coached team in college football. Willie Taggart's side blew a late lead against Virginia, but was given a chance to claw back in with time running down. The Seminoles got in great scoring position, but without any timeouts, needed to stop the clock with a spike. Yet somehow, Taggart's team failed to do that simple task, opting instead to take a direct snap and run an incredibly risky rushing play, which, obviously, failed miserably.
This is the disaster that was Florida State’s final play. If you can explain that … go right ahead. pic.twitter.com/8YySFPdSM8

In a painfully nostalgic moment, ringing back to Warrick Dunn's failed direct snap run, Cam Akers' attempt was snuffed about by the Cavalier defense, as he was brought down well short of the goal line as time expired.
Any disciplined team would know to spike the ball and set up a play from the huddle, but Taggart's side wasn't prepared enough to make that call. You can point the finger at the players, but at the end of the day, that comes down to coaching.
Willie Taggart can't coach. It's pretty simple.

Florida State falls to 1-2 on the year, and after a game marred by penalties and poor decision, the Seminoles season officially seems lost.
What a devastating way to lose the game, despite Akers' best efforts on the final play.
