VIDEO: Footage Emerges of Capitals' Evgeny Kuznetsov Next to 2 Lines of White Powder
By Karl Rasmussen
A video surfaced on social media on Monday of Washington Capitals star Evgeny Kuznetsov seated next to two lines of a white powdery substance. The original video was posted to Twitter, but has since been deleted, however it was shared by other accounts on the platform as well as on YouTube.
A spokesman for the Capitals told Washington Post reporter Isabelle Khurshudyan that the team is "in the process of gathering facts" but otherwise declined to comment on the situation.
Kuznetsov himself has since commented, telling Russian sports outlet SportExpress that the video is from after the Capitals' 2018 Stanley Cup victory.
He claims that he visited a friend's hotel room in Las Vegas and upon seeing the substances on the table and women with which he wasn't familiar, he left.
Kuznetsov, 27, scored 21 goals and contributed 51 assists across 76 games for Washington this season. He's been with the Capitals since 2013 when he was drafted with the 26th overall pick.
