VIDEO: Former Mets Manager Terry Collins Talks About Why Star Players Are Targeted by HBPs
By Ryan Giglio

The four-game set between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers this week featured several batters being thrown at, a couple of ejections and a war of words after Thursday's finale. On Fox Sports, former Mets manager Terry Collins explained why a team's star usually gets hit in the name of retaliation.
"There was a time in Anaheim where we had an issue with one of my players getting knocked down, and I actually told Ken Griffey Jr, 'Look, if someone's going to pay for it, it's going to be you."

In 2016, Collins was irate when Noah Syndergaard was thrown out of a game for throwing behind then Dodgers second basemen Chase Utley after Utley broke the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada the previous October. As you can see, Collins didn't mince words here.
