VIDEO: Former Teammates Adam Eaton and Todd Frazier Separated in Skirmish During Nats-Mets
By Brendan Azoff
Adam Eaton and Todd Frazier spent one year together in Chicago playing for the White Sox in 2016, but that did not stop the two from getting into it when the Nationals were playing the Mets at Citi Field on Monday.
Apparently Eaton and Frazier have bad blood with each other, likely stemming from their playing days on the same team. The altercation nearly led to the benches clearing, with some of Eaton's teammates scattering onto the field just prior to the skirmish being broken up.
It is unknown which of the players started talking to the other first, but the two crossed paths as Frazier was leaving the field after Eaton had just been thrown out at first base.
If this quote is any indication, Eaton may have heard Frazier say something that he did not like, leading to the old emotions getting the best of both players.
This is the first of four games between the two rivals, and if Game 1 is any indication, we could see some fireworks later on in this series.
