VIDEO: FOX Sports Crew Wishes David Ortiz Well in His Recovery From Gunshot Wound

There was one obvious persona missing from FOX's pregame All-Star coverage Tuesday night: David Ortiz. The Red Sox legend is still recovery from a tragic shooting that happened down in the Dominican Republic last month, and even though he wasn't present for these festivities, the FOX Sports crew was certainly thinking about him and sent this message:

Instead of a four-man panel on the desk, Kevin Burkhardt, Alex Rodriguez and Frank Thomas left a seat open to let Big Papi know they were thinking about him and missed him dearly.

Ortiz is out of the ICU and is still in recovery after several surgeries and significant damage to some of his organs, though we haven't heard much lately from the ongoing process. Last we heard, it appeared he was on the path to a full recovery, and it hopefully won't be long before we see him cracking jokes with the FOX Sports crew.
