VIDEO: Furious Eugenio Suarez and David Bell Get Ejected Before 2nd inning of Reds-Cardinals
By Jerry Trotta
Tempers are flaring at Great American Ballpark on this Friday. Eugenio Suarez was incensed with the third-strike call in his first inning at-bat, but managed to suppress his emotions upon entering the field for the second frame. However, the Reds infielder was chirping the home plate ump while walking to his position and what proceeded was a HEATED exchange between both parties. Of course, Cincy's manager David Bell came out to defend his player and both he and Suarez were ultimately given the old heave-ho.
It's genuinely perplexing as to how such a turbulent confrontation transpired. Especially after Suarez made it back to the Reds dugout following his AB.
As for Bell, his tossing stood as his seventh ejection of the season, a mark that now stands as Cincy's single-season franchise record for managers -- a concerning tally considering its his first season at the helm and we're only in July.
