VIDEO: Gary Sanchez Launches 3-Run Home Run in First Inning Against Orioles
By Michael Luciano
Baltimore Orioles starter David Hess is apparently not a quick learner. Despite Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez crushing two home runs off of him in seven at-bats, he continues to challenge him in the middle of the plate, or with sloppy breakers. Sanchez made Hess pay again with his 14th home run of the season, giving the Yankees an early 3-0 lead on their division rivals at Camden Yards.
Sanchez has been tearing the cover off of the ball ever since he was activated off of the IL. Sanchez picked up where he left off last night, propelling the Yankees to a 10-7 win after they scored four runs off of closer Mychal Givens, three on a Sanchize bomb.
Sanchez's latest blast was no different, as this one got out of here in a hurry.
There just aren't many catchers in recent history with his ability to drive the ball to all fields with that sort of power. The year of El Kraken continues.
