VIDEO: Gary Sanchez Obliterates 2-Run Homer off Justus Sheffield to Give Yankees Lead Over Mariners
By Thomas Carannante
Former New York Yankee Justus Sheffield is facing his former team on Wednesday and he's not off to a good start. He probably wishes he was pitching for this offense, because Gary Sanchez destroyed a two-run homer off the left-hander in the first inning to give the Yanks a 2-0 lead over the Seattle Mariners.
That baby's out of frame. The Kraken has six homers since Aug. 10 and the Yankees are certainly hoping he stays hot in September as they get ready for the stretch run and work on securing home-field advantage in the playoffs.
Sanchez is now up to 30 bombs on the year after his latest 434-foot blast to left.
