VIDEO: Gary Thorne is in Absolute Disbelief as Gleyber Torres Crushes 3rd Home Run of Doubleheader
By Karl Rasmussen
Someone check on Orioles' broadcaster Gary Thorne and make sure he's okay, because this is getting out of hand, if it wasn't already. Gleyber Torres' torrid domination of the Orioles continued in a massive way on Monday, as the Yankees' slugger launched three home runs in the doubleheader. Thorne's call of the three-run shot says it all, as he's in utter disbelief when Torres' sends yet another ball into the seats.
He's seen this many times this year, as Torres now has 26 home runs this season, 13 of which have come against Thorne's beloved Orioles.
Torres has absolutely tormented the Orioles in the batter's box this season, and has done equally as much, if not more, damage to Thorne in the booth.
Thankfully, Yankee legend Paul O'Neill was on the scene to comfort Thorne in his time of need, and boy, was he exasperated. How many times does he have to see the same player run up the score against his O's?
Torres is breaking records with every at bat against Baltimore, and we're all wondering -- Thorne included -- why they continue to pitch to the 22-year-old.
