VIDEO: Germaine De Randamie Ties Fastest KO in Women's UFC History With 1 Punch Against Aspen Ladd
By Sam Dunn

Wow, this one is sure to inspire some controversy. In tonight's main event at UFC Fight Night 155 in Sacramento, Germaine De Randamie entered as a slight underdog against Aspen Ladd-- but that didn't stop her from asserting herself early. Really, really early. The Iron Lady only needed one punch to earn a TKO victory. One single punch. And at 16 seconds, she ties Ronda Rousey for the fastest knockout win in women's UFC history.

Ladd, who entered the night undefeated, was clearly dazed by the blow. She certainly has a right to be incensed that this thing got called as quickly as it did, however. It was not incontrovertibly clear that she was unable to defend herself; even Jorge Masvidal, after delivering the flying knee of the century last week at UFC 239, was still able to squeeze in a couple of full-on headshots after Ben Askren was already completely stick-a-fork-in-him done.

These are the breaks. And De Randamie will be the last one to complain about this one. Perhaps an uneven, uncomfortable end to the night's proceedings, but a wicked shot worth celebrating nonetheless.
