VIDEO: Saquon Barkley Ruled Out After Limping to Locker Room With Nasty Ankle Injury
By Sean Facey
The New York Giants may have been dealt a crushing blow on offense, as if they needed to be knocked down a peg. 2018 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and standout running back Saquon Barkley was forced to leave the game after suffering a brutal ankle injury on a play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
His limp to the locker room wasn't encouraging, either. Barkley needed to be helped by a pair of trainers as he made his way down the tunnel.
It's still unclear how severe the injury is, but it certainly doesn't look good. This will be something to keep an eye on as the game and season progresses for the Giants. They're already a lost team looking for answers on defense, as well as under center.
Not surprisingly, Barkley will miss the rest of a meaningless game with this injury.
The very last thing this city needs is to lose their only bonafide rock.
