VIDEO: Gio Urshela Crushes Solo Shot on First Pitch of the 9th Inning to Extend Yankees' Lead
By Karl Rasmussen
The Yankees had most of their runs provided for them off the bat of Gleyber Torres, but late in the game another hitter got in on the action. Gio Urshela led off the ninth inning with a solo shot to right field, giving the Yanks a 6-0 lead at Minute Maid Park, and all but sealing the Game 1 victory.
The Astros weren't able to contain the Yankees in the series opener, as three balls were parked in the seats by the Bombers.
Urshela is providing some excellent value for the Yankees at the back end of the order and they'll look to carry this momentum into Game 2.
