By Karl Rasmussen
What can't this Yankee team do? The "next man up" strategy the team has been forced to utilize has been working wonders, and third baseman Gio Urshela is the perfect example of that. The infielder came up clutch once again on Friday night, delivering a game-winning base hit in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap off a comeback. His hit not only gave the Yankees the win, but they are now sitting atop the AL East.
Urshela is the hero once again in the Bronx, as the Yankees surpass the Rays to take the division lead with a 27-16 record.
The 27-year-old went 3-for-4 in the game, including his game-winning single, including his season batting average to .347. After receiving the call from Scranton, Urshela has done nothing but win over the hearts of Yankees fans with his defensive prowess and clutch hitting.
