By Thomas Carannante
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have never faced each other in the US Open, and it's going to stay that way. Federer, the No. 3 player in the world, just got eliminated from contention at the 2019 tournament by No. 78-ranked Grigor Dimitrov. And the fifth set was a swift one for the Bulgarian.
Wow. This'll likely be the biggest upset of this year's event with Dimitrov advancing to his first ever semifinals at the US Open. And there's no question he deserved it. Look at how this guy battled all night!
Federer, the five-time US Open champion, was all class after the loss and congratulated Dimitrov, who will look to continue his improbable run, on the memorable victory.
