VIDEO: Howie Kendrick Gives Heartwarming Interview After Nats Advance to World Series
By Jerry Trotta
It's still hard to believe, but the Washington Nationals are headed to the World Series for the first time in franchise history after completing a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS on Tuesday night. The achievement was oozing with an abundance of heartwarming storylines, but the most notable was the incredible narrative surrounding Howie Kendrick, who completed his remarkable return from Achilles surgery last year by being named the NLCS MVP. Upon being rewarded the hardware, the 36-year-old journeyman, while embracing his family, delivered a heartwarming interview with MLB Network.
We're not sure Kendrick stopped smiling during that three minute clip, and why should he?
The former All-Star is heading to the Fall Classic for the first time in his career and was a driving force to that reality coming true. Kendrick went 6-for-15 against the Cardinals with four doubles and four RBI...in just four games.
Enjoy this moment, Howie, because you absolutely deserve it.
