VIDEO: Hunter Dozier Clears the Bases With Game-Winning Grand Slam off Indians Closer Brad Hand
By Scott Rogust
The Kansas City Royals are having a woeful 2019 season, while the Cleveland Indians are slowly but surely rising up the AL Central standings. On Tuesday, the Royals faced a 6-3 deficit entering the bottom of the ninth. Nicky Lopez's RBI single would bring the Royals within two. However, it was third baseman Hunter Dozier who played hero, as he mashed a grand slam to left center field off Brad Hand to give Kansas City the 8-6 lead.
That was Dozier's first career grand salami, and it couldn't have come at a better time for the Royals, as it effectively sealed the win with the Tribe unable to fight back in the bottom of the ninth.
