VIDEO: Hunter Pence Hits an Inside-the-Park Homer at Fenway as Brock Holt Ends Up in the Seats
By Seth Carlson
Not all homers are created equal, and Texas Rangers outfielder/DH Hunter Pence's was far from it. In the the top of the sixth with his team leading by four and and Nomar Mazara on base, Pence drove a pitch into the right field corner at Fenway, chasing Red Sox outfielder Brock Holt into the seats, where he could not come up with the home run robbery. Instead, the ball remained in the stadium, and Holt was unable to chase it down.
Mazara would score easily, but there was no backup in the Red Sox outfield, allowing Pence to round the bases for an inside the park home run. Pence had drawn three walks in his first three plate appearances prior.
The veteran stays red-hot as he has been crushing it in 2019 in Arlington. The inside-the-parker was his 14th round-tripper of the season.
