VIDEO: Ian Happ Hits Clutch Game-Tying 2-Run Bomb Against Cardinals
By Parker White
It's been rough to say the least for the Chicago Cubs in recent days, as they are fighting for their playoff lives. The St. Louis Cardinals had been taking it to their NL Central rival, winning the first two games of this key series, and they were leading by two in the fourth inning. However, Ian Happ came off the pine for the Cubs and may have saved their season with this game-tying, two-run homer. Take a look:
That, my friend, was no wall-scrapper. Happ drilled that center-cut fastball 443 feet over the center field fence. That came off his bat at 105 mph. Yeah, he got all of it.
Chicago still has a ways to go in this game to win it and keep their season alive, but they might look back on this swing as the one that saved their season and propelled them to a playoff berth.
