VIDEO: Indians' Jake Bauers Ties Game With Solo Blast off Yankees Reliever Adam Ottavino
By Michael Luciano
If Adam Ottavino is giving up home runs, something is really wrong with the Yankees. While the team has been in a funk over the last week, No. 0 remained as unhittable as ever. However, in the same game that fellow relief ace Tommy Kahnle gave up four runs, including a two-run home run from Mike Freeman of all people, Jake Bauers got a hold of an Ottavino fastball to tie this game up at 5.
That was the seventh home run of the season for the Indians outfielder. This is isn't the first time Bauers has been a thorn in the Yankees' side, as he launched a walk-off home run in the 12th inning of a Rays-Yankees matchup last year that gave Tampa Bay a 7-6 win.
This was the first time in 18 appearances that Ottavino surrendered a run.
The Yankees need to figure out whatever has psyched them out in the last week and squash it quickly, because Tampa Bay is taking it to the Red Sox and gaining more ground in the division.
