The Cleveland Indians are making the slightest of Wild Card surges right about now, and every time they surge forward, it's due to a new injection of home-grown pitching. Civale, the 24-year-old out of Northeastern of all places, was equally dominant in the minors this season, splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A, putting up a 2.85 ERA combined between the pair of levels.
Paired with Plesac, who arrived in the show last month and carries a 2.56 ERA in five starts, these two have done plenty to show the Indians have a surplus of young talent to pluck from in this department.
