VIDEO: J.T. Realmuto Looked Totally Disgusted When Phillies' Reliever Jared Hughes Entered vs Mets
By Karl Rasmussen
The Phillies' bullpen has been nothing short of a disaster in 2019, but nothing exemplified that more than a moment caught on camera late in Friday night's game. After ace Aaron Nola held the Mets to just one earned run across 6.1 innings of work, the Phils turned the game over to their bullpen. What proceeded was reliever Mike Morin surrendering four earned runs in 0.1 innings. Well, J.T. Realmuto was less than thrilled with the bullpen, and looked absolutely disgusted when he saw Jared Hughes trotting in from the 'pen.
Hughes came lumbering on in from the bullpen and there's no misplacing the look of absolute dread on the face of Realmuto, who is just about sick of catching for the lackluster relief group.
It's hard to blame him. Nola left the game in a 1-0 ball game, and by the time matters finished just 2.2 innings later, the scoreboard read 11-5 in favor of the Mets.
With the loss to the Mets, the Phillies hold just a 1.5-game lead over their rivals in both the NL East and Wild Card race.
