VIDEO: JA Happ Goofs on Aaron Boone Over Quick Hook in Game 1 of Doubleheader

Yankees manager Aaron Boone had a questionable quick hook for his starter JA Happ on Wednesday, especially in the pitcher's mind. After just throwing only 64 pitches in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon, Boone made the long walk to the mound to yank his starter from the game. Of course, Boonie didn't want an ineffective fastball to sink the team's shot at victory; Happ had already given up three homers on the day. But Happ had only one question for his manager on the way out.

In the best interest of his teammates, Happ wanted to make sure his manager wasn't losing his mind, possibly taxing the bullpen ahead of Game 2 by forgetting about the double dip altogether. Even though the bullpen got the job done efficiently, Happ was clearly not happy with the decision, though he took it in stride.

Despite struggling early, Happ settled down in the middle innings, only giving up one run from the third inning on before being yanked.

Trey Mancini was due up next for the Orioles, who has had previous success off of Happ, but it was still a bit of a head-scratcher. At least Happ could find a little humor in his response about it.

And, oh yeah: the Yankees won both halves of the DH. All's well that ends well.
