VIDEO: Jackie Bradley Jr. Extends Red Sox Lead With First Homer of 2019
By Parker White
If the Boston Red Sox can get this guy going, then look out. It's been a rough start to the season offensively for outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr, but he finally got the monkey off his back and belted his first home run of the season, a two-run shot that extended their lead over the hometown Blue Jays. Take a look:
Bradley, the reigning ALCS MVP, entered Monday's contest hitting .144 with seven RBI and a .421 OPS. If it wasn't for his elite defensive in center field, he wouldn't be playing and may not be on a big league roster.
That's a huge swing for Bradley, taking a hanging changeup on the outside part of the plate from Jays reliever Elvis Luciano and driving it to the opposite field.
Could this be the start of a JBJ hot streak? The defending champs are praying for the affirmative.
