VIDEO: Jacob deGrom Sends Francisco Mejia to the Dirt After Fooling Him With Filthy Cutter

In the midst of an otherwise forgetful season, New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been every bit his dominant self. The 2018 NL Cy Young award winner put San Diego Padres catcher Francisco Mejia on skates, sending him to the ground after tying him up in knots with an absolutely filthy inside cutter.

Mejia and the Padres might have a bright future ahead of them, but deGrom reminded them that there's still a ways to go. It took him just three pitches to send Mejia packing, but he clearly saved his best one for the end of the at-bat.
Maybe the rookie backstop will think twice about swinging out of his shoes the next time he steps in against deGrom.
