VIDEO: Jake Marisnick Keeps His Cool Like a Pro After Angels Retaliate for Jonathan Lucroy Incident
By Brendan Azoff

Houston Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick bulldozed Los Angeles Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy just before the All-Star break while running towards home, injuring the catcher and inciting anger from Angels players and fans alike. When the two teams squared off again Tuesday night, Marisnick got blatantly thrown at, but instead of being angered by it, he actually diffused what could have been an ugly situation.

He kept his cool and held back his bench as well as Albert Pujols from brawling, exemplifying what it means to be accountable for your actions and acting like a professional.
Not only did he handle being hit as graciously as he could have, but he also had an outstanding game, outside of that incident.
What Jake Marisnick did tonight was impressive. Fans made his hometown an awful place to play, booing him every AB & every play he was involved in. All he did was come up with 2 hits, a SB and tried to diffuse what might have been a brawl after he was intentionally thrown at.

Marisnick was everywhere during the contest, filling up the stat sheet despite being the focal point of the fans, players storylines all evening. Kudos to Marisnick who understood the repercussions of his actions, took his punishment, and then continued on, taking his anger out on the baseball instead of the Angels.
