VIDEO: Jamal Adams Compares Himself to Tom Brady and Says He's Hurt the Jets Shopped Him
By Mark Powell

Jamal Adams is the best player on the New York Jets. Perhaps an All-Pro talent. But this is downright insane. Adams revealed he's hurt the Jets shopped him at the NFL Trade Deadline, and compared himself to NFL greats Tom Brady and Aaron Donald to make his point. Folks, my description won't do the video justice.
Jamal Adams says he was told by a couple of reliable people that he was being shopped by the #Jets. “The Rams don’t take calls on Aaron Donald. The Patriots don’t take calls on Tom Brady. I hold myself in that regard.”

Adams is an emerging star on a team that desperately needs one defensively. However, he is not Brady. He is not Donald.
Both of those generational talents are future Hall of Famers. Brady, in particular, is arguably the best quarterback of all time. A 24-year-old safety, albeit one on the precipice of stardom, does not compare. Not in the slightest.

He really said this.
Adams thinks highly of himself, and this alone is fine. To insist Pro Bowl-caliber players shouldn't have an ego in today's NFL would be ignorant. But the former LSU Tiger very clearly doesn't yet have an understanding of the business side of the sport he loves.
#Jets HC Adam Gase and GM Joe Douglas both tried to talk to Jamal Adams today. Adams said he declined. “I’m not ready to talk.”

The Jets are a mess. Their head coach is still riding the coattails of Peyton Manning nearly a decade after the fact, and their GM actively believes the team stinks (and is willing to tell fans!).
Adams being relieved of his duties as Jets captain would've been a blessing in disguise. Instead, he's left with the harsh reality that nearly every NFL player is available, including literally all of the New York Jets.
