VIDEO: James Paxton Appears Frustrated With Austin Romine's Pitch Selection During Loss to Red Sox
By Daniel Marcillo

The New York Yankees' trip to Fenway Park to face the Boston Red Sox certainly has not gone the way they expected it to. Yankees starter James Paxton could say the same about his first year as a Yankee, and he made his frustration visible Friday night, appearing to mouth off during a delay in the game.

Paxton only pitched four innings and was shelled for seven runs, nine hits, and four home runs (three to Mookie Betts). Safe to say he could not get on the same page with catcher Austin Romine, and seemed to sarcastically say, "What do you want me to throw?" in his frustration.
That frustration has built up over the last two months for Paxton. Since June, Paxton has an ERA of 6.38 and has allowed 14 home runs. Hitters also have an average of .409 on balls that are put in play.
Hey Uncle Frank, whatcha think of the #Yankees' recent starting pitching?

Paxton's struggles only emphasize the Yankees major weakness: lack of starting pitching. The Yankees have been able to coast to one of the best records in baseball while Luis Severino has been gone all year, but their lack of a true top tier pitcher is starting to catch up with them.
The Yankees acquired Paxton in hopes he would be the perfect No. 2 pitcher for the Yankees, but he has not pitched well at all. He might be Sonny Gray 2.0, after he also pitched well for an AL West team the year prior.
At least, it seems he's handling himself that way.
