VIDEO: James Paxton's NSFW Exchange Asking Aaron Boone to Leave Him in is Exactly What Yankees Need
By Jerry Trotta
Aaron Boone was faced with an arduous decision with two outs in the top of the sixth inning of Game 5 on Friday night. Should he leave James Paxton, who was about to surpass his previous season-high pitch total in 2019, in for one more out, or turn to his bullpen? Well, when the skipper approached the mound, the Big Maple delivered some palpable profanities to assert that he was good to finish the inning. Folks, this clip is simply EVERYTHING that is great about October.
The best part about this video is that Paxton doesn't even make eye contact with Boone while stating that he wanted to stay in the game. There was just no way that the left-hander wasn't finishing the inning and he promptly rewarded his manager's faith by getting Robinson Chirinos to fly out.
Seriously, how can you not love baseball?
