VIDEO: Japanese Player Nobuhiro Matsuda Has the Most Distracting Batting Stance Ever
By Parker White
In baseball, both the hitter and pitcher try to intimidate their opponent. You can do that with facial expressions, your mannerisms, whatever. In the case of this Japanese batter, he does a great job trolling the pitcher with this amazing batting stance.
Does Nobuhiro Matsuda do this for every at-bat? Whether he does or not, he's doing a fantastic job of distracting the opposing pitcher.
His setup and where he's holding the bat is basically telling the hurler that "if you throw it here, I'm going to destroy the baseball."
Either that, or he's trying to get the pitcher to throw the pitcher's focus off to draw a walk.
