VIDEO: Javier Báez Crushes Go-Ahead 3-Run Shot in the 8th Inning Against the Mets
By Karl Rasmussen
The Cubs were determined not to lose their four-game series with the Mets, and after dropping two of the first three outings, a series tie was the best they could hope for. Well, after trailing for much of the outing, Javier Báez came to the plate and put the Cubs up with a massive three-run shot in the eighth.
This is precisely what Cubs fans were hoping for when their star infielder stepped into the batter's box. He delivered above and beyond expectation, as this was a mammoth shot.
Go ahead, Javy. That swing deserves some admiration, so please, take your time strolling out of the box as you gander at the moonshot of an oppo taco you just served up on the Mets, and maybe peak at the scoreboard, because you just gave the team a two-run cushion with that blast.
