VIDEO: Jay Bruce Clobbers Clutch Pinch Hit Game-Tying Home Run for Phillies Against Reds
By Mark Powell
Former Cincinnati Red Jay Bruce delivered a subtle reminder as to what fans are missing in the left-handed power hitter. With the Phillies on the comeback trail against the Reds, Bruce provided the game-tying bomb (pinch hitting no less).
The Phillies had been down 5-0, but JT Realmuto hit a 2-run shot to put Philadelphia in striking distance down only one run. Bruce, of course, has played the role of hero thus far with his pinch hit blast.
The Phillies find themselves in the middle of a heated NL Wild Card race, and they must take advantage against teams towards the bottom of the standings, no matter how pesky they may be.
